ETA- Somebody please give me a quick rundown on how this works , I've never played any kind of fantasy sports but I know it can't be rocket surgery

Every week you pick 5 drivers, they have to be picked usually by a few hours before race time. After the race the drivers are awarded points for how they finished, and group members are awarded points by how their drivers did, and ranked in the group week-to-week. At the end of the season, Cope wins again

It looks like the format may be different this year, but last year you had 100.00 to spend on 5 drivers for each race. If a driver did well, his value went up for the next week and he would cost more, if he did poorly (like Junior did all year...lol) his value would go down and he would be cheaper to buy the next week.

ETA: Anybody going to post this in GD? I forgot all about it last year until I read the thread in GD.

Just picked my 5 cars for Daytona in less than a minute. My first impression of the new system is that it eliminates much of the skill previously required to select a quality roster.

The Shootout drawing is coming up next on Speed. And then a re broadcast of both practice sessions after that.

I agree we need to drum up more participants. The only downside to GD is that the haters can't resist offering their two cents. Since JimsZR2 self proclaims that he "loves racing! ", I elect him to test the waters over in GD. By the time the dust settles on his thread, someone else can create another last minute post over there just prior to the 500 to pick up a few stragglers. I promise to make a lap through the GD thread to talk a little smack as FIVE Time and Defending Champ. woooo!

It is somewhat easier and dumbed down for sure. The drivers are locked into the group for each segment. At segment change you may have to decide which new B or A drivers to select if yours moved groups. It still takes a little skill (and luck) to pick the right person for short tracks, super speedway, etc. Not much challenge though when you can just swap between all of the drivers in a group without regard to cost.

Don't feel bad , your not the only one. I'm still not 100% clear on when to log on and pick my drivers.

So before the season really gets kicked off and bandwagons are available , who are you favorite drivers?

If I did not have Jr in my picks, I would have been screwed.

I would like to thank my team and especially Jr., for gaining 8 spots on the last lap, to put me in the lead. I know it's just the first of many races, but hell I'm in first.
