Hello,

I read the article in the latest SWAT magazine about the Armalite SASS rifle written by Steve Malloy. In the article he makes the following statement about the SASS trial...

"...Armalite's AR-10 SASS entry, as submitted, finished third in the trials."

He does not mention the source of that info or which rifles, according to his source, came in first or second? Can he or anybody at SWAT provide and more details regarding the SASS trails and their results. A lot of us would like to know more detail about the tests and the results but finding that info has not been easy.

Thank you

My understanding of this is limited, but normaly how a particular item fared in testing is not released to the public. The military will announce who won, and will tell each company how they fared overall, but will not release a "Score Card." Its up to the individual companies to decide if they want to disclose to the public how they fared in the test.

Thanks for the info. I can understand that but I've seen a lot of claims as to were the different submissions ranked so somebody, somewhere must have release this info and\or there are a lot of people talking out of their ass?

If the full on results are ever released it will probably be in conjunction with some type of legal proceding, otherwise im sure its restricted data. That's the only way we know anything about Remingtons submission is because of their protest and the GAO report on said protest.

Well I guess what I really want to know is this, I have seen a few references (such as this article) that seems to indicate the the finalist were KAC (1st), Remmy\DPMS (2nd), and Armalite (3rd) but I've also read a rumor (more then once) that the Armalite finished 1st but lost the contract to KAC because KAC already had their foot in the door (sort of speak) and because they were not willing (or able) to make the security improvements to their facilities that the Mil. requested? I am starting to think that story is complete BS made up by Armalite fan boys who can't handle knowing that the DPMS rifle finished ahead of their beloved Armalite but I'd like to know for sure (if possible) what the truth is really is? If seen the document floating around from the Remmy protest and it didn't sound like the Remmy did all that great IMO. If the Armalite finished behind the DPMS rifle, I would have to think it did pretty poorly?

We haven't received a copy of the report so can't comment. We've heard some good info from testers, but no report.

Matter of fact, we still haven't got all of our property back.

They're having too much fun still playing with them. Best of luck getting the stuff back.
