That is some vintage Walton right there. Before the really big Army came in and made it not so much fun. I liked it when it was just 20 or 30 army guys and me. Some days I long for crappy frozen pizza and whatever was on the grill that night.

we'll make it, but it has been pretty shitty, apparently tommorow i'm changing squads and moving out of here to replace on of my buddies who got ran over by a truck, our squad has to many nco's, now his has none.
i just cant fucking wait to go back to america and have this fucking deployment over,,,,i used to like deploying,,,than i had this one.

Walton will be double the size of CNS in a short period of time. Mostly an SSA yard though. Personally, I dont care what they do with it after June...

I was at Walton a little while ago and it was a lot bigger than I thought. I slept in the yard at hotel california for a couple hours, man that place looks like a post-apocalyptic nightmare now.

Camp Georgia was a lot of fun in '07. At least after we moved over the wall.
Back when I first rotated in, we were living on the Afghan side. That part sucked. The showers sucked so hard, words cannot express. Things got a lot better when the LT and SGM got the new camp built.
Not that we had a monkey or anything.

A few of my co-workers are going To Kandahar for 3 months. They will be staying in "South Park" in tents. Tell me a little about the area so I can relay the info to them. Also they have been told that a gang drives around in a van and takes young contractors. They have their way with them then dump them. Sounds like a newbie BS story to me. Any truth to it?

Plenty of vans drive through south park for the TCN's, but ive never heard of anything crazy like that. I was told that KAF has a pretty high sexual assault rate though.

alot of unsupervised tcns
alot of foreign mil types who come from countries where its not really considered unnaceptable
and of course, the usual sexual predators in the mil
that said there have also been several unexplained deaths (and questionable suicides), which i would term as murders
be that as it may, its still probably safer than pretty much any town in america (incoming not taken into account)
we had a soldier who almost got some involuntary luvin from some tcns in a shower until a few of us walked in to take one ourselves, we remedied the situation.
the best advice i can give is don't go anywhere without a buddy. Im a 30 y/o MP SGT, and i won't go anywhere without a buddy, so that should tell you something.

I was supposed to spend March at KAF, but I arrived in Kabul and the full bird I was supposed to report to said "Well, I want to keep you guys close so you can give me daily progress reports on what you're doing. You'll just stay in Kabul."
