LOL, I bought one in about '79 for $250.
Had 38,000 miles on it, but a lowly 307/PG combo.
MINT interior, but jackass had bought it from original owner a few months before, and scraped one side up.
Picked up a totaled Olds for free, and soon had a 455 TH400 in it.
Did the bodywork, shot a coat of primer, then a few coats of industrial Immron left over from a commercial job.
Hijackers and an old set of McCreary dirt track tires.
Ran high 13s/low 14s.
Then broke down and actually spent a few bucks on a 150 hp shot system.
Cheap fun!

i have had alot of luck with craigslist and carsonline. the latter is great for old cars, tons of them listed. other than the good old google search just keep pounding the trader magazines from the gas stations.
im'd you about a 69 chevelle in my area.
I don't recommend buying anything sight unseen unless you have damn good pictures that aren't just close ups of the "damage" My 66 C10 looked in way better shape in the pics, couple that with looking at it at night, and I would have probably haggled down the price some.

I got it. Let me talk to my brothers and see what they think about the year change.
