Ordering struts should I order new springs?

So I'm ordering some OEM struts for my Honda. My factory struts lasted 6 years. Few months ago had a shade tree change the struts and mounts since I was working 6 days a week. He put Monroe brand struts in. They where gone within weeks. Figured I'd go back to factory since they lasted so long. Got to talking to another driver and he said some of the newer vehicles need the coils changed also. So what does the hive think? Struts mounts and whatever bushings or everything.

If the ride is loose and bouncy then yes. The springs do all the supporting, the struts just dampen. If your springs can't support the car then you will be wasting money on the struts.

Even if you don't need new springs the Monroe quick strut assemblies are well well worth the $$ just on the basis of eaise of installation.

Plus you get new bearing pads too!!!"

Monroe doesn't make quick strut for the element.

Edit: Just realized all I said was it was a Honda. It's a 2005 Honda Element 4wd 138000 miles. Tring to make it last another year while I save to buy something newer. Should have enough cash to buy an 08 or 09 z71 in cash.

I would hope Honda's springs would last longer than that. I have only replaced coils on my vehicles that were 15-20 yrs old.
