I need to change a wheel seal in an '03 Tahoe. I've pulled side gears before, but haven't been able to figure out how to get them out of this half-assed limited slip.
Tried youtube, but only found pictures of busted stuff....any help?

remove the S shaped spring between the axles, get a helper to push in on the outboard end of the axle. and use needle nose pliers to remove the C clip.
Take your time, and don't drop anything into the diff.
Ops
on pavement turn the wheel hard right and stomp the throttle till the transmission upshifts into second.
G80 Gov BOMB the self dissasembling diff.

I have one in my DMax with over 800lbs of torque and it hasnt given me any troubles with 38 inch tires, how much more stress do you put thru yours?

i dont own one but the violent action of it locking would seem to be what breaks it, not how much torque you are putting to it
FWIW: I figured out how to get it apart; after pulling the center pin (same with a standard diff) I put a come-a-long on the end of the axle and applied a minimal amount of pull which moved the axle in enough to use a magnet to remove the C-clip, re-assembly was the same.....all very easy once the puzzle was figured out.
