Today, just one day after celebrating the birth of our blessed Savior, we honor St. Stephen––the first martyr to the faith.

He is venerated or honored as a saint in the Roman Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran, Oriental Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox Churches.

If you look into the circumstances surrounding his horrible death, we see why "the mob" was enraged at him: he spoke THE TRUTH to them.

And what is THE TRUTH? It is not a thing or a place.

It is a person––JESUS CHRIST.

St. Stephen spoke the truth to the crowds. He even saw our blessed Lord seated at the right hand of the Father as he was being killed for the faith.

And so as each of us continues their journey of faith on this earth, let us recognize that many here on earth do not wish to hear the truth; they will want to "stop up their ears" to the truth; will become enraged at the truth; will be angry and may even do us physical harm for telling them THE TRUTH––JESUS CHRIST.

But as we know, these things will not stop us from proclaiming: JESUS IS LORD AND SAVIOR OF ALL!

HE is our "rock and salvation."

Peace Brothers and Sisters.
