I am building a new house and need a recommendation for an outside disconnect for the contractor to use while building. My meter base is located about 230 feet from building location on the side of a power pole. I am wanting to trench cable from the meter base to a temporary pole next to building site..The disconnect must be 200 amp and have at least one 20 amp breaker for a couple of outlets..This disconnect will be permanently attached to house after construction is complete.
One more question the inspector is telling me the cable must be permanently buried while construction is happening...How do I insure I will have enough cable to reach permanent location on house without coiling extra at bottom of temporary pole?

As always thanks for your time..And this is for my BOL.

If you're going to use conduit, use conduit measuring tape.

Coil it underground and dig up the coil when it comes time for permanent installation?

In NC you would set up a tempory power pole close to the house and the power company will pull the wire from the main pole to your temp.

best bet is to go to your local electrical supply place, tell them what you are doing, and let them hand you the one that fits the bill.

i'm kind of unclear on what you are wanting, sounds like just a straight 200amp disconnect to kill incoming power to your panel from the outside. if this is the case, you can probably go to your local home depot or such and pick one up, just make sure it has the proper outdoor rating required for your area. I recommend squareD most of the time, because their parts tend to not change every five or ten years like some manufacturers

ETA: upon further review, seems you want a 200 amp main panel. as a contractor, we usually bring our own panel to the game, and take it with us when we leave, we have a board set up with a few GFCIs on it all ready to go.

this should do you

ETA: don't forget to pick up a few single pole 20amp breakers and maybe a 2pole as well
