just wondering, never thought I'd actually have the chance to ask you, which did you prefer, the shooting show, or the car show??
you were the best guy on that car show and I only started watching it because you were on there!
I figured you had the best time on the planet when you did both, I dreamed of being you, especially when you did a burnout in a viper or vette or something...

It's a dirty job... hands constantly covered in gun powder, lead, and oil... cheap motels... bad road food... you wouldn't like it.

I do still get test cars to drive because I still contribute comment to Car and Driver Radio on the weekends. Audi is sending in an R-8 (their supercar) next week. I've got to think of something to do with that for a week.
Actually, John Scoutten (fastmover13 on Arf-com) is the master of the brake stand, smokey burn-out. I think his non stop burn-out in a 700 Horsepower Viper can still be seen on U-Tube. But whenever we needed really good tire smoke, John was the choice. (That three pedals, but only two feet thing ain't easy to do.)
Which do I prefer? Well, I always carry when driving anything worth more than $50K. So both work together nicely. No reason to choose.

Jim and John - You should guys should make an un-official ARFCOM family photo with a couple of AR's and the R* when it comes in. Those are tremendous cars. Someone near me has one, and I want to take their driver's license away when I see them slogging around in the snow here in Chicago.

I just looked at that old Viper video.
I was definitely a younger guy then.
I'll make this easier with a hot link.Jim
Likely. He's been working on the shows as long as I have.
