For those with a wine fridge.
Which one & which size shelves.
Thinking of upgrading from the cooler.
Edgestar 28 with drawers from Chasidor.
Like this....
Recently took out the lowest shelf do I could store the troop pass bags.
I will leave it out as I have boxes to go there.
since you live in pa,why not just use a standard humidor?
easy to control both temp and humidity. some nice free standing
500 count ones on the market.
Not so easy on the temp. Early spring, the cooler lives in the shed, summer it moves to the garage as the shed gets too damn hot, then finally to the basement for the winter. I am able to keep the temp steady by this pain in the ass procedure but would like to be able to set the temp & leave it. obviously it would be much more handy to have my stash permanently reside in the smoking area.
Plus they look cool as hell

Edgestar 28
Metal racks... Just ordered a shelf,ETA - Double drawer and divider from Wineadors.com. Just trying to clean up my loose sticks and get rid of my other desktop humidors that are getting a bit empty.
This thread is relevant to my interests. I have out grown 2 200 count humidors fast in 7 or 8 years. I would like the ability to store and age a lot more.
And yes I know I could just leave it in the basement but I don't want it down there.

Not as easy to keep humidity as the Wineador is! I don't know about you but in the winter my house dry's out to around 40%RH... Nothing like adding water to the beads every week or two. Hell I just checked my 250 count desktop and it was pretty dry, even the 35mm film can I keep filled with water was just about dry. And its not even a bad winter!

One problem with this theory... Its not so much set the temp and forget it. The warmest setting still chills to under 60 Degrees(at least mine does). I keep mine in my house that ranges in the 65-72 Degree range. If you want to set it and forget you will need to add some aftermarket thermostats and drill a hole for a probe, etc.
ETA - Barring in mind your smoking area doesn't get much hotter than that in the summer, you shouldn't even have to plug the thing in.
I freekin love mine...
Just made a hole for he new boxes making their way...fingers crossed

I just got a 12 bottle, but should have listened to Echo and got a 28. I can see the 12 filling up quick. I can also see me ordering another one to stack on top of the one I have within a couple of months.

hmm, thats odd,cuz mine stays temp controled year round, and i use a oasis xl.
my sticks rarely get above 72 in the summer, and stay just below 70 in the winter.
my rh is steady at 68 to 72. i credit the oasis with alot of my success.
i fill it every week for a 500 count cao humidor.

Ding, ding, ding....same recipe here.
Rock solid all summer and now through the winter thus far.

on,and the other trick is keeping the humidor full/near capacity with cigars.....
its worse than brd/nvgd......

thank you for dragging up the fact that i still need to order a zebra wood drawer set.
funny thing, If I stay out of the humidor section I don't think I "need" all this stuff

You have been misinformed....go out right now and put in your order....what are you waiting for?!?!?!?!
What is a reasonable price on these? I have seen anywhere from 146-199. I would be led to believe there is a "new egg" of winadors.
I have seen the Edgestar 28's go as low as like $135 shipped. Just gotta keep an eye out.
do some digging around on ebay
picked up my edgestar brand new shipped for 128 or 148 cant remember

NICE SCORE!!!
My first one was around 140.00 and my second was 128.00 ish....
I have one at home and one in the office.
Temp is my nemesis in the office while humidity is the bad guy at home.
I have posted pics of the office fridge but ever since the My Little Pony/Kitty sticker attack war waged by my seven year old, the home fridge is off limits to you sickos!!!
Chasidor stuff in both.....typical slotted, non-glass top drawers and shelves.
Oasis XL in the office box with a lb of beads just because.
Home has two lbs of beads and Oust fans but....it normally only gets plugged in from May to September/October....I can unplug it during the winter months...no Oasis XL in that one.
Edgestar 28 with Chasidor drawers and shelves. 3 double drawers with glass tops, 1 single drawer with glass top and 2 shelves for boxes. Holds about 450 sticks. I'm using 3 lbs of beads for humidification and an oust fan to keep things circulating. Don't forget to plug the drain hole!
I found a fridge. Now, are the shelves and drawers in stock or on as ordered basis. Who's shelves? Wineador or other.
Thanks,
Brad
We each have our favorites.
Mine is Chuck at Chasidor.
All orders are custom made to order and the rock!!!!
I bought a non working Vinetemp 12 for 30 bucks off Craigs list this weekend
Are there any pros & cons to glass top shelves and non glass slotted shelves? (Referring to Chasidor)

Personal preference....
I went with the slotted trays/shelves.
My thoughts were towards the general movement of air throughout the fridge...why have a place for moisture to get trapped or collect near my little lovelies!!!!

That's what I was thinking. I just figured , what was the point of offering the option.... you know what I mean?
I would definitely go slotted as well. Air movement is your friend.

I went the opposite direction! I wanted the glass to keep a stable environment inside each compartment. It reduces the fluctuation from opening the door and you can also have slightly higher/lower humidities in a drawer if you choose to by using a different percentage bead.
Vino Temp 34 w/ Wineadors drawers:
That looks perfect. Was planning a shopping trip this weekend till the cigar truck broke.
Stupid brake lines & rear drums only lasted 18 yrs...
I would like to enforce the recommendation to go big the first time. I literally just got my wineador up and running days ago and have already realized that it is full and I never should have gone with a 12 bottle. So now the wife is gonna get a new small wine cooler and I am on the hunt for an Edgestar 28. I have already ordered my drawers and shelves from wineadors.com.
I just picked up a NewAir 280 for $184 shipped. Gonna take a month or two to buy the drawers and shelves. Slowly but surely. Never would have realized I need one of these if I had not found this section of the site.
