did anyone see the tactical crossbow? it was so cool. It will shoot 400 fps and shoot 3 inch groups at 200 yards!

Yeah, I saw it. I didn't find out a price but thought having a crisp 2# trigger would be
rather nice. Of course someone would dub it an assault bow and Nobama would ban it.

I'd have to see it shoot 200 yards to believe it. Bolts are very light, which means they will shed velocity quickly. That translates into "short range weapon."

Sure looked cool though.

I think the price is around $1200.

It's roughly $1300 on PSE's website available for pre-order.

The stated accuracy claims were 2" @ 100yds.

It does not ship with a lower (you provide that).

By my rough calculations the bolt should be around 24" ( I had to guess brace height).

200 yds is too damn far for any strung weapon to accurately group like that. I've seen amazing things done at 100 (and just over), but 200 yds would require a hold bordering on a 45 degree angle.

It was cool, what was cool was to meet Pete himself (Mister PSE).

For something that I have absolutely no need for, it sure did make me smile!

That thing isn't going to be a 200-yard rig.

I looked at it and I was impressed. I hunt with a crossbow and I liked the fact the bow-string doesn't ride on a rail so it doesn't wear out so quickly and the way the limbs are arranged you can relief the tension on the limbs and even change out the stings yourself.

Not sure about the accuracy claims but I do like the crossbow. Maybe when the wife gets a job I'll get one but until then I'll use my old crossbow.

Bolts are not used. Stander 26" carbon arrows are used per the PSE rep.

The biggest problem with this is that it uses an actual FIREARM lower reciever for it. Why the hell would one want to put a non firearm upper on a lower that is a firearm? I understand that the superior ergonomics or the AR15 and all of its various choices of stocks and grips, but crowsbows aren't firearms. A conversion that allowed you to shoot Bolts propelled by some sort of cased ammunition would be ok, but this is practically stupid.

I have no other problem with it, and it does look fun to shoot.

Resident Evil 3. You can retrieve/reuse the arrow. Just a thought. I would rather have a rig with a couple extra mags though!

Nope, not a chance. Would it be possible to hit a target at 200 yds? Yes, with a tailwind and a 45 degree hold. The drop would be too great to use pins.

I'm getting nearly 330fps from a Hoyt Katera. I can fling an arrow a couple hundred yards, but there won't be much accuracy to speak of.

their reason for using an ar lower is the trigger release is a new design. normally all crossbows string is held in place with a hook or similar directly linked to the trigger, this results in a 6-10 lb trigger pull, their design has no direct linkage to the trigger so the trigger pull is exactly the same as on a standard ar.

400-550fps with fletched 16" broadhead/target arrows
with your Ruger 10/22 or Remy 700

...maybe a little less tactical, lol
but still fun

this. Most crossbow triggers are this side of horrid. A match trigger crossbow is interesting.

check out youtube...nothing, zip, nada, check out pse home page...no videos...ask yourself this, if you came out with a product that would outshoot an m1 garand, any ak47, most ar15 with ball ammo at 200 yards ..wouldnt you want to show proof???

the guy is full of sh1t, i would be willing to put up my money that he cant shoot 3 inch groups at 200 yards this week next week or next year...

sorry, just won't happen. The guy was exaggerating or he was grossly misinformed.

I don't think he understands the drop of an arrow at even 80 yards, much less 200. The drop is so great (even shooting high performance speed bows) that pins can't be used. You draw, place the 50yd pin on the bullseye, note where your 20 yd pin is, and then place the 50yd pin where the 20yd pin used to be.

200 yd 3" groups just isn't possible. You'd be thrilled just to hit the target house, much less the bale.

I would do better than that, i will put money up that it won't do it at a hundred.
even with full length arrows, there are just to many variables, and its not possible to get 5 fliers into a 2 inch group. i've tried.
the problem with them making claims like that is, people that don't know any better believe that shit.
