1st Chair
Well it's official, I've taken the JMC chair tonight along with instructing new candidates.
The instillation was really something to behold, a lot of people from the Grand lodge where present.
I've not made a decision yet on how I will pass on my knowledge (i.e. Mouth to Ear or Cipher book)
It really felt good to get off the side lines & get a different perspective on things, a real eye opener.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year my Brothers.
Congratulations Brother, mouth to ear is how we do it. No cipher books.
Congrats
MTE hear also. it takes longer but it gives me the opportunity to educate not just have them memorize the work. we should be educating, not teaching men to repeat words they don't understand

Unfortunately, in Ohio, we do the cipher booklets. I applaud that statement T_B_S! I have a friend who has an african grey that could repeat the words if I worked with it a few hours. I dont think it gets the true meaning either.
OP, congrats on the chair. Spent a little time in them myself. IT IS an honor indeed!
Congrats on the JMC chair.
I sit in the JMC chair too and like it so much, i asked to sit in it again this coming year.
Congrats bro. Don't stop there. Head eastward!
BigShot (JMC) is "Jr. Master of Ceremonies" its the very 1st chair & sits to the left of the Sr. Warden.
It was the easiest for me since I'm on dialysis & suffer from back problems.

in my lodge, JMC sits infront of and to the right of the SW and its not the first chair. Many guys start off in a Jr Stewards chair, then Sr. Steward, then Persuviant's chair, then JMC and on up. Our Tyler is also the guy who prepares the snacks and meals, that way he can come and go as needed.
Not sure we have a stewards chair, it took me a while just to figure out where the jewels went during practice for the instillation.
All they said was JMC was the first chair & would I be willing to take it.
The Ceremonies still throw me a bit but I'm catching on, having poor hearing doesn't help matters either. (Tinnitus)
it took me about 10 degrees to get it all down pat. you will do fine. Remember, not everyone is perfect and these guys are there to help you and help you they will if you ask. Pretty soon, you will be like me and you will be mouthing the obligations to yourself while in the square. i am not a fast learner, but with repetition it seems to just flow out of my mouth.
we don't have a JMC nor a MC.
