Steamed vegetables?
Whats a good way to steam veggies without buying a steamer?
Metal colander over a pan of boiling water.
Buy veggies in a streamer bag and use the microwave? Put alittle water and butter in a covered microwave safe dish and use it.
Veggies are pretty effectively steamed in a Wok when stir fried with a tiny bit of oil, a splash of water here and there and a very hot wok.
Many of the frozen companies (Birdseye comes to mind) make veggies in the bags you throw in the microwave sealed.
I rarely buy canned veggies anymore. They say sometimes frozen veggies retain more of their nutrients than the ones in produce due because of shipping times.
I steam fresh vegetables in the microwave with about 1/4 cup of water.
You don't really need a steamer either in the microwave or on the stove.
Just use minimal water and drain after.
