I agree they are in panic mode now and things do look good for Romney. But you have to remember it is only June and Romney still needs to campaign smart another 5.5months. There is still time for Romney to screw this up or to lay the bedrock for a unified dem opposition if he is elected.

I will say Romney was not my canidate however i have been pleasantly surprised with his campaign to this point. I hope he keeps this up.

At this point Romney is playing this smart with firming up his base by going after voters like me that supported other candidates with his hard approach on Obama. But the next stage is the hard part and that is to bring in the independents. Romney still needs to play it smart to win the election.

The Independent White-guilt voters took a chance on Hope and Change.

If 0 and Romney are polling more or less even now, even before the campaign has begun, Romney has it.

His news conference Friday seemed to throw more fuel on the fire for Romney. He made statements about the private economy being OK and the Public arena being in need of help. By 3 in the afternoon he had already clarified his statement and disavowed it's veracity. No wonder Axelrod never wants this asshole to speak extemporaneously.

IMO that decisiveness is what will secure him a large victory. U remember in 2008 that most of the independent non party people I talked to liked Obama because "he has a plan and knows the economy and McCain doesn't know shit" From the debates to their websites to their speeches it all did seem like Obama was a smart man who knew how to fix the economy. Of course People like me knew all these plans would increase the downslide of the economy but the average person doesn't know the difference and McCain wasn't offering shit on any front and even made the mistake of saying the economy was fundamentally healthy.

So far in this race all the independent non political people I know seem to think that Romney knows the economy and will actually try to do something to fix it. Also the things people like me told them in 2008 about how Obamas policy would make things worse are ringing true. They are sure that Obama doesn't know jack shit about the economy and see him as a partisan jackass since most of them don't like Obamacare. It also doesn't help that the executive branch sued AZ over 1070. Obama has year after year reminded all the independents that he is against most of the things they believe in and has failed to come through on his economic promises.

All Romney has to do is continue to focus on the economy and attack Obama for the proven things he has done. Obama made a big mistake by deciding to make this about Romneys business in the past. The average voter trusts a man who ran a successful business and made millions with the nations money far more than a politician. Obama has just equated Romney with the private sector. HUGE mistake. Obamas only hope was to distract from things relevant to the economy. Romney appears to be having none of that.

Unless things change Romney will destroy Obama.

Isn't it interesting that the first African American president seems to typify much of what is wrong with affirmative action.

He typifies the sort of irrational liberalism that judges the worthiness of people based on the checkboxes they can tick off. Black? Check. Ivy league educated? Check. Criticizing a republican administration on human rights? Check...and here's your peace prize! And that's the full depth of their examination. He checks the right boxes and this he becomes their guy despite the fact that his performance has in many ways been the polar opposite of what liberals wanted.
