That's part of it... she makes some women feel guilty, because those women would abort a Downs infant if they had one... and the fact that Palin did NOT, and genuinely loves little Trig, is like a spear in their hearts.
And plenty of them are jealous of her success/looks/lifestyle/high-profile/poise/etc. There's a definite "mean girls" catty quality about much of it.
