Anyone tried the yhm 5.56 brake? Does it work well? I need to get another mount and I'm trying to decide between the flash hider and the brake.

Seems to work fine on my 16" carbine.

I've read that it works as a sacrificial blast baffle... after putting 3 or 4 thousand rounds through my 556 QD, I'm starting to notice the mount looking a little funky... so I might try one too!

I've read that also. It's supposed to be easier on a supressor. I just wondered if I was functional also

I've never touched one, but they suggest that it doesn't work in that thread...

I have one on my 11.5" and my 7.5" uppers for my M16. It tames the flame without the can on to the point it's nearly nonexistent.

I just got 2 556 ones but havent tried them.

I used the F/H QD mount on my 7.62 can when running russian 5.45. When i took the ca off there was rust and green shit growing on the mount.
