Flash bang wake up call!

Soooooooo, we have lived at our little crummy duplex for just over a year and only moved there temporarily for my job. We had "decent" neighbors for awhile but they moved out in late December 2011 and it was awesome for a month and a half, then the landlord got new tenants! YAY! NOT! These degenerates were AWFUL! All kinds of traffic coming and going night and day, fights, drugs, etc etc. It was really bad, we complained to the landlord and he "talked" to them but nothing changed, then we complained to DHS because there were two toddlers in the house and we felt horrible about them being subjected to that kind of environment, but DHS told us to contact local LE, they would not touch it on their own . So basically this has been going on since February with no respite untill 3:30 this morning! Better half and I are in bed when all of a sudden FLASH BANG and in storm the boys in blue! Sounded like a goshdarn riot in that place so I says to wifey, "me thinks that is the cops and they are being raided, so I go foggin it out into the living room and the street is lit up like the 4th of July with cars, suv's, SWAT, all kinds of hullabaloo and they are giving them the business! . Anyway come to find out they had been watching them for months compiling the evidence and getting info froma snitch! So other than getting hardly any sleep last night and waking up to the sound of flash bangs and screams of GET THE FUCK DOWN and SHUT THE FUCK UP,, today is going to be a good day!

! Not used to having Swat in my living room at 5am! I'm in the middle of building another AR and parts are scattered from hell to breakfast, it would have been a little awkward trying to explain that and misc "other parts lying around the house, and before I get flamed for "leaving evidence out in the open" We live in a dinky 800sqf duplex which leaves nada a place for doing much of anything. Therefore the aforementioned part strewnage!

Glad they cleared out the criminals. Seems almost irresponsible they didn't clear the other half of the duplex prior to that raid. What if it turned into a gunfight?

That was my first thought! Especially since our bedroom shares a common wall with one of their bedrooms! I asked the swat officer that took our statements that question and he said that the suspects were "low risk" for whatever that is worth. But in the LE's defense these people were boobs, they did come across as threatening at all! Just your run of the mill, white trash, loser druggie addict!

Yea, we had some extended police involvement with some of my apartment neighbors one night.
Once the screaming stopped and everyone grabbed a pen, they were grateful for a pot of coffee.

North Portland? I had the same thing at my duplex about 10 years ago but it was the aps. out back. Lots of shouting a couple of explosions then it quieted down. I almost called the cops, but I read in the paper later that it WAS the cops. It was a drug sweep –– they raided 8 houses around 5 am. IIRC Popo found 1 gun and a little pot in the sweep. Waste of time and $$$$$$$$$$$.
