Here's a link to the trailer:
Trailer

It's a 2006 Australian film about the Japanese invasion of Papua New Guinea.
Here's the wiki:
Kokoda Track

The only copies I've been able to find have been the wrong DVD region, but for those who know how to look, it can be found elsewhere on the web. I'd buy it if I could get a US DVD. I'd love to see it in HD with surround sound.

As for the film itself, it portrays a very gritty jungle combat experience, with some great combat scenes along the lines of Band of Brothers, Blackhawk Down-type filming. One thing I really enjoyed about the movie was that the Japanese soldiers were SCARY. There was none of the Hollywood "make sure to remind the audience that the enemy are people too" that we get in our war movies.

Check it out if you can.

Lots of Lee-Enfield and Bren gun goodness.

The movie does in fact look good. I will be on the look out for it.

Thanks for posting this.

Not to mention Lend-Lease Tommy guns. This movie makes me want a Bren gun, though.

So did anyone find a place to buy a version of this movie compatible with US players?
