Shoes or more appropriately boots

I love the look of the high boots but I'm appalled by how high the heels are! I tried on a pair yesterday that were gorgeous except they had 5" heels. What is up with this? All the dress heels are way too high for me as well. Are women really wearing these things?

I see women wearing them and I think 1) I would kill myself in them 2) How would you escape and evade quickly in them and 3) their feet are going to be sorry. I suppose the heel could be used as a weapon, though.

It's like buying the perfect pair of jeans... Takes time to find.

I found a nice pair of knee high ones with only a 2 inch heel at goodwill.

I was out at Kohls yesterday since they are having a sale on their boots and I found a pair I loved but there was a heal on them. I am shot and I like wearing heals but to have heals on in the winter in MN is crazy. I havent been able to find many without a heal for the right price. Even some of them on sale at Kohls were crazy expensive. I am thinking to try JC Pennys though. Good luck!

DSW has a large selection of boots but I find is hit or miss.
Some time ago I got black ones with a lower heel (2"?) not wedge heels.

These are the boots I bought this winter.They're a bit above the ankle. I wanted a pair of waterproof black leather ones and I found them. I love Merrell. I can't walk in heels and being able to move is very important to me. These weren't cheap, however. I paid $130, but I will wear them until they wear out. I often wear black khakis to work and these work wonderfully with them. They're unlined, except for some Polarfleece on the footbed. My feet are always too hot and it's rare for my feet to get cold in these.

Thanks! I have seen several online with out too high of heel. I'm just appalled at how high heels are these days. I got a clothing catalog the other day. Average heel height is 4 1/2 inches.

Boots are my favorite type of shoe as well and at one point I had heels on all of them. After having a baby my feet can not handle the heels for a long period of time. Now I where boots without heels. I just recently bought these




I love them.
