My brothers and me are all in our 20's and hoping to start a family tradition of going to Canada in early August. We just booked our first trip to Skyline Lodge. http://www.fishskylinelodge.com/ I was told perch, walleye and northerns are the predominate fish in this lake. I was hoping for some basic starting points/references perhaps on learning to fish these fish specifically, as none of us are great anglers. We grew up near/on the Fox River near the IL WI border. I love fishing, have been going since I was a boy, but have never really had any legitimate fishing advice. I have always just taught myself, done a bit a research on tying knots, but other than that, it is trial and error.

For all you anglers, I would appreciate any help on lures (mainly for walleye/northern), rods/reels, or general strategies for fishing in Canada or these fish. This website has been pretty helpful when I turn to it, and am hoping it continues.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.
We have already booked our trip. No need for preferences on lodges, location, etc.
