Recommend a good vacuum sealer
I need something for both food and materials. Something in the less than 200 range.
FoodSaver is about the best company to go with. Which ever model best suits your needs will work best. I found that dehydrated food typically puncture the bags which are the thickest in the industry-residential use. I fold a paper towel or two and make a "liner" for the foods, it seems to work better that way.
I agree, food saver is about the best manufacturer out there without going to a commerical unit. The best vac sealer I had was a Professional II. It lasted a pretty good time and worked extremely well for a large amout of packaging meat and stuff.
A year ago it finally died and I went out and grabbed a cheap walmart repalcement.
the Pro II is no longer made but they now make the Pro III. The benefits to a Pro model is that they have a built in roll holder and bag cutter. This is an advantage when your sealling multiple items.
When I burn out my current model Im either going back to the Pro III or look into a commerical unit.
