This is not a complaint thread!!!! Dave can we get a thread about why you felt you needed to change what you did in the book? Like the question about the Old Man was good. Little things have popped up like:

Why you changed Jerry Drew to Jerry Watson and you changed his brother's 1st name too.

Why you removed 99% of the references to the guns. Like you say Sheriff Thompson has a Big Black Glock on his hip and in the old version you said Big Glock 45, Breezy just has a long barreled revolver opposed to a Ruger Super Blackhawk.

I'm guessing he changed the guns to be more descriptive instead of technical, for the...uninformed.

True it does sound very cool but to much of it makes it start to sound Tom Clancy, who I have a hard time reading because of the detailed descriptions.

I gotta say I wondered about the Drews as well... especially since I put their name in my amazon review prior to getting the book.

Sorry I didn't answer earlier.

I changed the Drews name because I found out, after I wrote the story, (remember, any similarities to anyone, living or dead, is purely coincidental) that there is a family run gun store around here called Dury's. Any rumors of my having been there before are greatly exaggerated! I thought the names were too close, especially with what ended up happening to them in the story.

The gun stuff I toned down so that the story would appeal to a wider audience. Remember, I wrote this story to try to get people on board with prepping, so the more that will read it, the better.

Truth be told, I made a ton of rookie mistakes in writing LO. I wish I could go back and start over, but what's done is done now.

All I can tell you all is that I appreciate all the input, suggestions, help, and encouragement y'all have given to LO. This is not so much MY story as it is OUR story.

Thanks so much!
