Help, MORON in Need of a HT Doctor...
I slipped with the blade doing the marscap mod on a 270 and now I get no audio unless I hold down the mon button or set the squelch to two or less. Did a full reset on it and manually programed in some freqs so I am ruling out software issues, it takes a fill and transmits fine.
Any help appreciated!
Are you actually receiving a signal at the time? The point of squelch is to kill the audio when there's no signal. Hitting mon kills the squelch.

Well.......Just because I'm wondering...What do you usually set your squelch on? I have never had mine above 2 and most of the time keep it on 1. On all my HTs. So I don't see it as a game ender...you are saying if you have squelch ion 1 or 2 the rig works fine, just when you turn it up more you get nothing, right?
Also make sure tsql (tone squelch) is off.
Sq on my other two radios, 170s is set to eight. Basically set to one there is no squelch anything higher blocks everything except NOAA.
I am reasonably sure this is not operator headspace.
