Fawn distress calls ?

Anyone use a fawn distress call to call in does ? Does it only work before and after the rut or all season ? I've used it to call in coyotes but it says it will bring does in if they are within earshot. -Thanks

I have called in a lot of does while coyote hunting with one.
I have never tried it in my treestand, but there is no reason why it wouldn't work year-round.

I quit it while bowhunting when the last doe I called in simply ran past (right under) my stand and kept going. It seemed a bit counterproductive to have a doe come in fully alert and pumped up when enough of them wander by that aren't alarmed. YMMV of course.
