Prairie Dogs in Texas?

Are there any prairie dogs in Texas? I'm going to the San Antonio area in June to hunt hogs, and was wondering if there might be prairie dogs in that area, too.

I have lived in the SA area for 5 years and I haven't ever seen any.
That being said, I Googled their habitat and it said Texas was an area that they live in.
So if you see any it might be on a rare occasion.
Good luck with the hogs! There are a ton down here in south Texas.

For prairie dog, head northwest, toward the panhandle/south plains.

Used to wack them pretty heavy just south of Lubbock, but that was in 1989.. 
Much better dog hunting in Wyoming..
Used to be you could barely stand to shoot after about 200 rounds each of 22-250, 25-06 and 300 win mag hu nting dogs outside of Cheyene Wyoming. There were other reservations that were similar. Most efferts to eradicate/manage them have been succesful. If left un checked they can be very destructive.
When hunting them be very carful when walking out to check your shots. Most of the time (50% give or take) they fall back in the hole but its pretty easy to tell if you hit them. Its also twice the fun to have a freind spot and call shots for you. Its good rest for a shooter to spot for a while. We had a lot of guys dehydrate so keep the fluids in you.
That being said call around to the local Agriculture departments for any state your interested in and see if any one has a problem with them. If you find any body with an abundance IM me.

I'll check around and will let you know. We are coming down from Indiana, through Dallas, down to Houston to pick up my bro in-law, and then over to San Antonio.
