I am looking for a short rail to put on my standard ar-15/m4 carbin handguard (with 7 holes) to attach my bipod, the magpul rail section (5 slot) is a good solution but the holes won't fit, I am wondering if i can burn a hole on it using hot iron, so the screw can match the holes on the handguard? i don't have mechanical drill or something like that

thanks

(btw i really hope magpul can make rails for standard handguard that's tapered)

No- can't see it working with satisfactory results.

How does one live without a few basic tools?

Seriously, a new corded drill can be had for less than $30. I'll bet you could find something for 10 or 15 at a pawn shop or off craigslist or ebay.

Or just get an ERGO polymer rail, find the holes that moun up for you, slice off the excess rail. Not everything has to say Magpul on it, and I was using the ERGO rails before Magpul made the rails for their MOE handguards.
