I posted this question over on AR.15 Discussion but haven't really got a relevant answer so I figure I'll go right to the source.
I will be sending in a 16" armalite barrel and I am looking to get it cut to 11". I do understand 10.5" and 11.5" are the standard SBR lengths. I desire a 11" due to my already owned MI rail and flashider combination and among other issues, it is the look I'm after.
Do you anticipate any function issues with a 11" barrel? Concerning gas port size, have you cut barrels down to 11" without function issues? I'm sure you guys know what your doing but I just don't want to be "the test subject". I tend to shoot a very wide range of ammo, from cheap wolf to leo TAP.
If you bring to my attention any reliability issues or concerns by using the oddball 11" length I may forget the whole idea and go with the standard 10.5" or 11.5" SBR length.
Thank you Sir!
There is no functional differences with an 11" a 10.5" or an 11.5". So if 11" is what you want, go with it.
