Speaking of 'worth the wait', what kind of wait times are ya'll experiencing on a stripped lower. I just ordered one last Friday at the local shop, and they told me it could be 3-4 months. I'm not in a hurry, I'd just like to get it before Obummer gets re-elected and bans them all.

Tom said the backlog on lowers is up to 12,000. Your dealer is probably pretty accurate on the wait time.

^^^ man thats crazy if thats not a call to expand and up production i dont know what is. Thats 12,000 customers potenitaly getting sick of waiting and buying elsewhere. I really like spikes stuff but if theres another brand sitting in the case thats more than likely made by the same place just with different roll mark on it I aint wainting 4 months
Im not even trying to bad mouth but i really just cant wrap my head around something like that if theres that much demand what is stopping you guys from stepping up supply, but i dont know much about the inner workings of the industry so maybe its not that simple, where is the weak link in the chain that allows that to happen? Again not talking crap just really interested to hear what it is that causes such massive backlogs in the industry
On a side note Ive gotten emails from brownells and graph and sons saying this election is gonna create a run again so " hurry up and stock up now on these selected items" Just pouring fuel on the speculation fire. I think its funny that its been 3 years since the obama gun and ammo run and were just now catching up and this new election cycle is just "chatching em off guard again"... darn it sounds like were gonna have to double prices again for another 2 years... This rant is not directed at spikes i just see the whole ammo and reloading componet thing starting to happen again and it pisses me off.

We have grown over 300% (as a company) per year for the last 4 years straight. We are rapidly expanding while maintaining top notch quality and service, that's two things we will never move away from, we would rather do less volume. We just purchased a new 30k sq. ft. building that we will be moving into before the end of summer. To give you an idea of the volume we are doing I wrote about 20 million in PO's last month alone. Before the end of the year we will be putting out 15k lowers per month an who knows how many uppers and rifles. We have also taken on large OEM accounts and special projects. It's definitely not easy. And we are definitely trying pretty hard..

Wow that's crazy numbers. Again I wasn't trash talking I guess I just wasn't aware there was such a huge demand I knew ars were in high demand but that's staggering That's nuts your putting out 15000 lowers a month and are still 12000 back ordered And your just one company out many. Kudos to growing and still maintaining excellent quality control and customer service. There's others out there with the same rapid growth that arnt doing so good with those key aspects. It's hard to Imagine what kind of numbers are going on industry wide. I guess it answers some questions I was having about the industry's lack of ability to keep up. Congrats on the huge success though you make a great product my recent build is pretty much all spikes but the barrel cause you don't have out a 8" blk and a lower cause I couldn't find one . Now I guess I know why

Just giving an update- Spikes lower that was ordered beginning of March, should be in in 3 weeks. Just short of 3 month original wait time.

Tom, keep up the good, make that exceptional work that has built your company. Any more public information about the possibly of stopping consumer sales? It just seems to me that from what you've stated in this thread you guys have set the bar high (volume of buisness) and are planning on performing at the next level (company investments). Always wish you guys the best.
