Adams Arms New 5.56 Tactical Upper
Adams Arms is now proud to announce the release of the 5.56 Tactical Upper!!!!!
Whether you are using your AR for work or play this upper won’t let you down.
This particular upper was designed with a midlength gas system, which gives you multiple advantages over the more traditional carbine length gas systems. A midlength gas system is longer by 2” allowing a longer sight radius between front and rear sights for easier target acquisition and also giving you more available rail space to attach tactical gear. The extra length also means you can have a more comfortable shooting stance because it allows you a longer reach.
These uppers come equipped with:
- 16” midlength chrome lined government contoured barrel
- Midlength free floating quad rail
- Adams Arms midlength piston system
- Adams Arms receiver – with M4 feed ramps
These tactical uppers retail for $999, which is hundreds less than most of our competition.
You can purchase one of these uppers by contacting the dealers listed below.

Bayonet lug, guys. The Marine Corps likes 'em, and so do I. I'm going to hound you about it until you have one.
Oh, yeah ... And this is sweet. Thanks for coming out with a good price point.
it's not a "Tactical Upper' if it can't shoot 75-79 grain bullets . Screw a 1x7 /1x8 on that and stop screwing around,.

I was lookin for one too..
do you gentlemen have any intentions of putting a bayonet lug on the systems?
Ooh, it's red!

I just got a new Mega Billet lower that would like to meet one of these tactical uppers!
I have a few question before I warm-up the credit card:
Are there any plans to offer different specs of the tactical version, like a 18" or 20" barrel?
Is the charging handle a Mega part too?
Is the Mega barrel wrench included (needed for the Monolithic)?
Also, in one of the press release photos the upper is shown with sights, are they included?

I'll answer these in order:
There are no plans for a longer barrel at this time.
The charging handle is a standard mil-spec charging handle.
There is no barrel wrench included (you can get one from Mega if you want one).
The sights are installed in the press release photos to show the uppers profile and are not included.
Does the Tactical upper include the bc group?
Also, your website says this has a 1:7 Right twist. ?
^ It would need to come with the BCG since that is a specific part of the Adams Arms piston system.
Is this 1:7" or 1:9"?

1:9... at least that's what some of the vendors are listing it as.
Why does Adams Arms website say,
The Adams Arms Tactical 5.56 Piston Upper
• Midlength Gas Piston System
•Adams Arms 16” Chrome Lined Barrel
•M4 feed ramps
•1:7 Right Handed Twist•Chambered in 5.56 NATO
•Free Floating Quad Rail
•A2 Flash Hider

Originally we were going to go with a different barrel but decided on the 1:9 twist. The website has been corrected.
Wouldn't the 1:7" (or 1:8) for the Tactical and a 1:9" for the midlength base upper make more sense instead of the reverse?
Has anybody got one, yet?
