How much lighter is the lightweight barrel?

Doing research for my next build, it will be a lightweight build for my wife. The goal is the lightest I can do for a reasonable price. I have the 16" chf midlength from PSA.

Wondering how much lighter the 16" chf lightweight barrel is?

Thanks
Paul

Curious myself! I would expect an once or two at best.

My 14.7"light weight hf barrel only. weight is 1lb 8.10 oz

Eta; I would like to compare to a government profile barrel
as well as a standard m4 barrel.

Thanks

Static weight saved is a misleading measurement in this application. While the actual static weight saved is small, where the weight is saved is what makes the difference. By having less weight out at the end of the barrel, the handling dynamics of the upper change by a much larger difference than the static number would suggest.

Gotcha. Makes sense

The difference is noticable though? That is exactly where my wife needs the weight savings

If absolute weight savings is your goal, the CHF is probably not the best choice as they weigh slightly more than a comparable button broached barrel.

They need to weigh it for you.

It's not as light as a true lightweight barrel like from Daniel defense or BCM.

It's more like the spikes optimum barrel profile from the photos I have seen.

I would say 1 or 2 oz tops.

DD or BCM is more like 3 or 4 oz and that's off the end of the barrel.
