Howdy. I have a shot at an excellent condition Doublestar AR in 5.56, 16 inch with removable carry handle flat top, 500 round count, for $650. I have zero idea about Doublestar rifles––-is this average, a ripoff, a good price, etc.?

Thanks in advance for any info.

ETA: Oh, chrome, A2 flash hider, 6 position stock, carbine gas system, if that makes a difference with the opinion. Like I said, I know nothing about them, only having a couple RRA, a Bushmaster, and a mixed RRA/DPMS frankengun in 6.8, and having owned a total POS PWA for a bit before I got rid of it.

I've never had one of their factory rifles, but I have used their parts for builds. Including their full rifle build kits. IMO, they are good to go. I think you would be happy with the gun. Especially for $650. Just be advised they are not "Milspec". The barrel is probably 4140, the BCG is S/A, and the receiver extension commercial. But owning what you already own, it doesn't seem that these things would bother you. I would jump all over it.

Have one of their 16" Expedition uppers and its been a blast. Its not the absolute nicest rifle I've ever handled, but its worth what I paid for it without a doubt. It will put holes in things when you ask it to.

I only have experience with their complete lower. Poor fitting collapsible stock, as all brands seem to be. Castle nut staking was laughable, but I've never had one come loose. The trigger seems heavier than most, yet seems shorter and has an excellent reset. If it was about two pounds light it would be perfect but I'm not shooting for groups anyways.

Everything else is perfect, and who ever does their annodizing is a fucking rock star.

I've used their parts with no problem. A shooting buddy has a complete rifle and has had no issues what so ever. I believe he paid right about $650 for his also.

My dad owns a DblStar and we have put over 3,000+ rnds with no malfunction, but 3 due to ammo in just over a year.
Like poster above said not mil-spec but G2G.

Paid 700 new at the fun show.

Buy with confidence, I had a DS4, an A2 clone, I've never had a problem with the ones I had, and CS is top notch
