 Does a JP trigger require a NON notched hammer?

Someone told me it does but I cannot figure out why it would. I know they can need the whole tail cut off to ensure hard primer strikes.
To be clear- notched on the surface that faces the firing pin.

Mine didn't.

The product page mentions you use your stock hammer as well.

Yes it will work as is, however, JP trigger kit comes with the lighter spring (yellow) it would be better to reduce the hammer mass to speed it up
