I am looking for a high end free float rail to replace my Magpul carbine forearm. I would like a 12in that would work on a carbine length gas system. I have looked at the Larue and Daniel Defense rails and just want to make sure I'm not missing a manufacturer. Thanks in advance for the help.

Especially if you want something that requires minimal difficulty in installation. They look pretty slick, too. However, you'll never go wrong with LaRue or DD.

Troy and Larue are my favorite. Daniel Defense and Midwest Industries also make quality stuff.

I put a 13.2 Larue on mine. Really like it, its slim and doesnt get hot. When i was in your boat I was between DD and Larue. Just remember with the Larue rails that they are not contiunes if that matters to you, me it didnt.

This. I use the 12" C4 rail. I prefer it over my DD Lite.

For a smooth rail "Troy Alpha" for a quad rail "Daniel Defense Qmega".

I have Omega and Omega X rails, both very nice. I haven't played with the Centurion rails yet but I always hear good things about them. The Larue rails are good quality but they don't have a continuous top rail and they are wider than the Omega rails.

So far my favorites have been the Omega's because of their width.
