Question on RRA handguard
I have an RRA Operator Entry Elite. It has the half smooth half quad rail hand guard . I notice the smooth section of the grip gets noticeably hotter than the Quad Rail portion. My question is: would a full quad rail would be cooler to the touch? It isn't unbearable, but it gets pretty darned hot. I'm not sure if the smooth section is a heat sink, or if it gets hotter just because it is closest to the chamber.

More surface area (as in found in the railed section) dissipates heat more efficiently.
