Looking for a 308 for maybe a little range time but it definitely will be used for hunting deer and hogs.
I really like the Larue PredatAR but although lighter than most (weight), it is heavier than most (price).
Not concerned with any bells and whistles. Just a 16" version. I already have ar's in 7.62X39, 6.5
and 5.56. I don't need one but I want one. You guys know how it works. Any input will be appreciated.

I know I am not going to get one in 6 or 7 lbs but just looking for one of the lightest offerings.
What do you recommend?

Not wanting to build right now. Thanks!

Not to hijack but what is the lightest 18-20" build.
I would like something in the 8# +- range dry without optics.

An UL Leupold + tally rings would add another 12-14oz or so.

I want to put something together myself or at least the upper.

for something really light you will need to go with a bolt gun like a Tikka light model, those are around 6lbs

any AR variant is going to be heavy

I know they are all pretty much heavy. Just looking for the lightest out of all the offerings.
I already have a bolt in 308 but wanting an ar. Thanks!

Already have bolt guns too.

I was also thinking a Browning BAR for a semi but I like a gun I can work on.

Is there a list anywhere that lists AR10 parts and weights, IE like a complete lower weighs X or whatever ??

PRETTY FREAKING LIGHT

I think that might be the lightest I've seen, other than a cutom deal from ARP or something.

I know this is in the high range, but have you looked at a scar 17s? 8lbs without optics and mine is very accurate with extremely little recoil

The CMMG 18" barreled Mark 3's are pretty light but they are working the bugs out of them still.

AR10 carbine is 7.75lbs
The Bushmaster MOE I've got in the EE is 7.75lbs
Looks like thats about as low as you are going to get without some mods (superlightweight barrel, carbon fiber tube handguard)

I was looking for light and accurate & ended up ordering the RRA Predator HP. 8.6 lbs before scope...

RRA is 30-60 days out if you place your order now on the LAR-8's.

Thanks fellas for all of the input. I walked out of the gun store last night a new proud owner
of an Armalite AR10A4CBF. I hadn't planned on getting one so soon but I am glad I did.
My first AR10!

Please don't blast me about pics because my camera is down.
