 'A2 Build' Pay It Forward

Since I had little success in the Retro forum sheddin' some A2 items, I'll try here.

To kick this off, I have four new A2 grips and six new delta rings to offer as an A2 PIF tribute.

NOW... here's my idea... I'll send all ten items to one individual (one po$tage co$t)... then that person can offer a subsequent PIF for the remaining items not utilized.

OK, who wants 'em?

I'll offer up the following:
rear sight flat spring
A2 pistol grip
hammer spring
carbine buffer spring

All available separately, but whoever wants them has to wait until I'm back on my feet again next week before I can ship them.

All I have are 3 CAR length fore arms & 3 pistol grips.
a few over sized trigger pins.

I'll have to do some more digging, lotta crap in dat box.

I need a barrel nut & the round front end cap if anyone has a spare, hell I take anything at this point.

OK, I'll play. I have played over in the retro PIF and that seems to work well. lets hope this works out as well.

I will put up an inexpensive clone set of A2 handguards and several new A2 grips. I also have a new steel A2 trigger guard to offer up......

if the "carbine length" handguards are carbine (thin) and not M4 (thick) I can use and need 2 sets, if thats OK...please let me know if they are carbine (thin) handguards...Thanks....<><....:)

P.S. - YoungFrankenstien856, I have sent you an e-mail, I am trying to empty my IM box but the messages won't be emptied until later tonight...Thanks

May I divert some possible misunderstandings here...

When I offered my PIF at da top, I got several 'wants' for individual parts. My intent with my 'mad method' was to minimize and spread out the co$t$ of $hipping for offered items. As much as I appreciate, have benefited from and participated in the PIF program, I really don't want to spend $50 to sent out ten items individually.Keep in mind that no one item I'm offering is worth more than the postal cost. Think 'bout it...

My fondness for the AR platform and those that 'reside' here is immense. So, I just had to clear da air. Hopefully, the recipient of my parts will use what they can and then offer the rest in a shared appreciation of the PIF spirit.

Am I off base here? If so, clear to da right, clear to da left, commence...

No, I don't see a problem with the all or nothing approach.
I could use a delta ring or two.
If you'll send it to me I'll offer up the extras to others here.

IM sent.

I am going to play Santa for someone. Uncle Sugar was good about recycling tax dollars through me this year, and the wife allowed purchase of enough goodies to complete two rifles. Anyone have a need for a stripped A2 upper (sight still installed)? I will post a pic later today, along with a pay it forward suggestion.

Because this is arfcom, the pics:

right side

left side

roll mark and rear sight (8/3)

My wonderful photography skills should reveal the anodizing on this thing looks cheap. Kaiser Aluminum forging by the mark, but it is unknown who finished the upper or assembled it into a rifle previously. I bought it as a barreled upper from an individual locally, who knew no more than I now do.

Skeet6, IM me. I'm on night shift, so give me a day or so to respond.

Peenguin, I sure could use that upper here, I can put up a set of A2 HG's though, and a new A2 grip, that's about all I have extra... oh, and how about a USGI 30 round mag pouch?

It gladdens me to see the A2 PIF taking off with a similar spirit that is shown in the Retro PIF.

Thank you for keeping my faith in the human race alive.

I think Skeet6 should post a humorous pic with the upper. Possibly an A2 vegetable mock up, to show me he received it.

I should have it sent out Monday or Tuesday, Mike.

Well, Mrs. B had her own ideas, she was going to buy a big eggplant for the stock, but there were none at the store, so she picked out a giant red pepper, LOL. My son wanted to help too, hence the Dorito front sight. THanks again, what a cool thing to offer up, I really appreciate it. Hat's off to Peenguin!!!

Weak kung fu... zucchini for the "stock", veggie stock, that is...

OK, OK... I know it's not polite to laugh at one's own 'humerus' attempt... oh wait... that's bone stock...

Have fun with it, Mike. I'm sure your father will love the rifle when you are done with it.

Thanks for the pic. I never would have thought to use a Dorito like that!

Folks, I have an A2 stock body. It's GI surplus and it looks it. No cracks or large chunks missing. Just the stock body only, don't be holding out for a trap door or thinking it's a CS stock, sorry!, its basic GI.

My son thought it was perfect, (he'll be 10 in June, LOL)

Thanks again... Dad will surely get a kick out of it!!

Oh, and I still have the A2 HG's and a grip or two for those who are in need. Also, how about a buttstock spring and a USGI 30 round mag pouch? Email or PM.

Anyone know who ended up with the supply of Delta rings? I could use one if there are any left. I will, as the others spoke of, forward those that are left after I take one out. What I really need is a slip ring, I know a slip ring is retro but I'm working on a transitonal piece so a Delta ring will do. A rifle gas tube and/or gas tube pin and a silent sling (any sling really) will be greatly appreciated as well.
I have several new A2 grips and a couple port doors if anyone needs one.
My offers and needs are not linked in any way, my stuff is availabe to whoever needs it, unconditonally. I keep watching the EE for what I need but no luck yet.
I know if I wait long enough, and am lucky on the timing, it will eventually show up..Thanks....<><....:)
