Just My Luck
So when Nodak Spud started offering the McKay A2 lowers, I had to get some. My first order was one black and one XM gray. Up until recently the gray lower didn't have a proper home. Then I stumbled on a really nice Colt gray A2 upper on the EE. Struck a deal and bought it. I was also able to secure one of the very nice FN barrels from Landman. I put this together and today opened it up for a thorough cleaning. Imagine my surprise when I found that the upper appeared to have M4 feedramps and my FN barrel did not. Just to be certain I looked at the front of the receiver above the gas tube hole and there was a 4 stamped there. I know there may be a feed issue but I'm considering taking it to the range to find out. It will not ba a mag dumper, just another shooter added to my collection. I'll be really upset if this isn't a shooter.
You will never know how it functions until you shoot it. Full Auto and/or soft points out of the combination you have would be the worst scenario. For a fun gun, range gun, or coyote gun it may work just fine. For a working (serious) gun there may be reason for concern, just in case something might happen and a stoppage might occur of course, usually when you can least affored it.
Shoot it and let us know how it works out for you, good luck. Try some FMJ's, they should work....<><....:)
I would see about cutting ramps, or finding another barrel. YMMV
Shoot it & give us the range report.
It's going to go to the range for sure. FMJs no problem. I just want to see what it will do as is. This will never be my "Go To" gun unless SHTF and my others are broken but just the same, if it doesn't work right, it can't stay.

I was waiting on this. I'm working from my work computer as mine has blwon up. The likes of facebook, youtube and photobucket have benn blockod out so I can't upload pics to the photobucket acct. Let me try to borrow a puter and see what I can do
Edit, let me see. It's the one with rack #94, the other one I built for the wife a while back. The last photo is with a lefty middy I just built for a friend.

Dremel?
Wow! Nice photos, and nice equipment.

I thought about the Dremel for a minute. I hate to carve on a nice FN barrel but if it's not going to feed right, I'd have little choice. Are there any surface hardening considerations with massaging out the barrel extensions?

Thanks for the compliment. The equipment is my other disease.
Fill the notches in the reciever with JB Weld...
