Model 1 sales govt profile 1x7 chrome lined kits
I noticed Model 1 has a A2 kit available with a 20in 1x7 govt profile chrome lined bbl in a kit for $535. was wondering if anyone had any experience with these?
A buddy of mine got one. After the FSB was properly aligned, it worked fine.
You can usually fine and complete Colt A2 upper in great condition for around that price.
Many people have bad experiences with Model 1 Sales, usually credit card fraud...
A buddy of mine has an M4gery thats mostly M1S parts and it works fine, but he only bought their stuff since he was able to do it in person with cash.
I've built many of their kits without issue. Paid with credit cards too, and never had any issue. I think they get a bum rap from other sellers pushing more expensive gear.
I have one M1S carbine with somewhere over 7,000 rounds through it without any breakage (possibly over 10,000, but I KNOW it's at least 7,000).
I will buy from them again, as from what I've seen, there stuff has only gotten better.
Oddly, I'm in the forum tonight debating buying a gov't profile A2, and unless I can find a great deal, will likely build another of their kits.
Mod1 Sales can be hit n miss! A few years ago I bought two M4 kits with no problems. The LPK's were NOS no tick Colt Mfg parts in retro gray. The .223 M4 turned out to be the best M4 build I have ever done, and to date has only given me three mag related failures out of 1600+ rnds fired. The other was a 9mm that had teething problems, but fixed up really nice. I later ordered some 607 clone parts, and got jerked around for close to a month. When I finally got them, the 607 guards were a tad too short! I also got a massive attitude from the yotch that was taking orders, about only People with approved NFA forms can order short barrels. I asked how that applied to pistol owners. Got a very rude "You'll have to prove to us it's going on a registered pistol lower" as an answer! I have never had an issue with their parts. And the Shaw M4 barrel has worked great for me. It's the attitude, and occasional jerk fest they catch you up in, that bothers me the most. And I did have some CC fraud happen about 6 months after ordering, but never could tie it to them. The fraud happened in Arizona, and Florida...
I have a M1S .22lr 16" dedicated upper that I've been really happy with. Much more accurate and reliable than a conversion unit. Paid with CC ad no issues either. This was about 4 years ago.
