Need help with my 9mm bolt.

I picked up an older version Olympic Arms 9mm upper at Knob Creek last year. I want to remove the bolt from the carrier so I can clean it and make sure everything is working properly. I downloaded the Olympic Arms manual but it doesn't show disassembly. It does show the bolt removed from the carrier on the newer models. I cannot get the bolt to turn in the carrier to remove it. I can't imagine that the old style can't be removed but may be wrong. Anyone familiar with this style? I've included a couple pictures to show what I've got.

I want to say... remove the fire pin first,, then the gas key ,, lift out the cam pin, then the bolt head should come out the front of the carrier body...

That bolt is not made to remove and clean inside like a 223 bolt and it dousnt need to be removed and cleaned.
You can remove the firing pin to clean out the inside or the extractor on the outside but thats about it.

^This is correct.^ I have never seen an oly carrier with a gas key before. If you want to remove the bolt alot to clean under the extractor thats fine, but I would cut off the gas neck on the key and stake the bolts for it. This way all you have to do to remove it would be remove the firing pin and lift out the cam pin.

Can the cam pin be turned to the side, ala AR practice? It appears the carrier key is already staked, so there has to be some means of removing it, unless it isn't meant to be removed.

Like I said it is not meant to remove and if you remove the gas key then it will need to be restaked and will all be a waste of time.
The bolt is made not to rotate like a 223 and the cam pin holds it in one position like you see it.
Instead of making one solid carrier and bolt like the colt style 9mm bolts they just made a pistol caliber bolt to replace
a rifle caliber bolt in a standard carrier that works with both.
Later they started coming out with a bolt carrier made more for the pistol calibers with the gas key cut off so ejector replacement can be done by the end user
without sending it in.

The bolts were never meant to be removed from the carrier unless for repair.
I have had every pistol caliber and generations of pistol caliber bolt carrier groups since
they started making them and have never removed a bolt for cleaning several thousand rounds later.
if it aint broke dont fix it
.
Just a few of the many I have had over the years
