cmmg 22 kit.
I was wondering if anyone has ever used one of these 22 bolt kits. I am trying to get my wife into ARs and insted of blowing lots of money on ammo for her to become a good shot. I was thinking of throwing this kit into an upper I have and letting her pratice with it. Hell I will even use it too. Any thoughts?

Run it wet.
I had to Dremel the weld on the back to reduce the wear on the buffer. And I rounded the sharp corners where the hammer interfaces the adapter to make it run smoother. Get the $10 plastic reloading aid to save your fingers and speed things up.

I ran a well worn Ciener for quite a while (10s of thousands of rounds) using the chamber insert on a regular ar.
Just recently upgraded to a dedicated 22LR upper, using the same kit and a CMMG barrel and collar.
Runs great, very accurate.
Just this weekend, I ran over 500 rounds through the dedicated 22LR upper and ciener kit. 500 rounds of Remington Golden bullets. Yeah, those... the ones everyone says are "not recommended."
Only one failure to fire, no FTF or FTE at all. (and the FTF was because Remington forgot to prime that shell).
When you get these kits well broken in, they do run well.
Get the stainless CMMG Evolution.
It uses 1 or 2 drops of oil per rail.
Stays cleaner longer and is easier to clean.
The Evolution has live round extraction, and many other up grades over the original to make it reliable.
Optional forward assist.
If you want the best, get the Inia. It actually locks into the 5.56 chamber.

i really like mine, works great.
I totally love mine. My SS CMMG conversion doesn't like remington ammo (about 10% malfunction), but LOVES both federal bulk and Winchester Super X. YMMV
As far as accuracy is concerned, don't expect much. My barrel has a 1:7 twist and I'm using bulk ammo so what can I expect right? If you want accuracy while you save $ get a dedicated upper. I plan on building a dedicated upper using my SS drop in conversion once I get more funds
Stainless is the way to go. Aguila makes a 60 grain bullet that helps with accuracy when using a 1:7" twist barrel. Winchester 333, 555 and Federal Bulk for plinking accuracy. As ShadowCop mentioned the CMMG India Kit is the ultimate. Most accurate conversion made to date, because it locks up just like an AR-15 Bolt....

I don't see how even the India conversion could be any more accurate than any flavor of conversion with a dedicated 22LR barrel and a tight fitting collar.
