Looking for good magazines for a .22LR dedicated upper?

I just bought one of the grey CMMG BHO magazines to go with my CMMG dedicated upper and I would like to get something different. I couldn't get it to latch into my BCM lower without spending a lengthy amount time filing/fitting the mag. Because the magazine was difficult to latch into place, I had a lot of feeding issues. I finally gave up until I could spend more time fitting the magazine. Is this typically the case with these mags? Is there a lower that these function in without all of the fitting?

I see alot of people use the Black Dog magazines. Are they a significant improvement over the CMMG mags? Do they require fitting to function properly?

I have about twenty BDM mags, including some ten rounders.
They all work fine in my ST-22.

The CMMG mags have tabs on the back to sand/file for proper fit. I file mine until the mag is just before "drop free"
The BDM mags work fine but are generally the opposite. They fit loose.

I use Black Dog Mags (BDM) and never have any problems with them.

Been using the BDM steel lipped mags in my 22LR that I use in Ruger Rimfire competition.....they have NEVER let me down and the only magzines that I would even consider using.

I could care less about the BHO thing, but if it floats yor boat....it's the best thing for you.

Look around and you can find those steel lipped mags pretty darn cheap and they'll last a very long, long time.

If you plan on keeping that CMMG magazine, you might want to quickly pick up some spare followers and springs for it - as they have discontinued them.
