What would be the softest kicking/recoiling 2 3/4" 12 guage slug i could buy. Shot from any 12 guage action?
Thanks

I can't say what the softest shooting will be, but there are some low recoil slugs on the market.

Fiocchi - http://www.midwayusa.com/product/918352/fiocchi-low-recoil-ammunition-12-gauge-2-3-4-7-8-oz-aero-rifled-slug-box-of-10

gas operated semi autos will have very different recoil impulses from a pump action shotgun...

The weight of the shotgun, and the fitment of the stock to the shooter are equally as important.

If you are thinking of buying for a smaller statured family member, you may want to check the fitment first.

If you are buying reduced recoil rounds because you want to go out and shoot 150 rounds yourself in one afternoon, you may have to first try a few types to see which ones work best in your firearm.

I shoot the low recoil slugs and 00 buck listed in the links above, it actually makes shooting my 870 much more pleasant.

If your worried about recoil i suggest you get a recoil pad.

As for your question you should look into reduced recoil slugs.

Remington's line of "Managed-Recoil" slugs and buckshot wok well too - and are widely available.

Having shot those and the Fiocchi Aero 1 oz @ 1150, Fiocchi is softer, from a gas gun (1100) or pump (590). Both have a nice thump, but much less than the full power loads. The Fiocchi cycles my 1100 kindof slow. I suspect that they would NOT cycle it in cold weather.

This. It's a M2 Benelli, I would like to find some slugs that don't kick my ass off a bench when I dial in the iron sights.
After dialed in with slugs I will find the best buckshot load to use.

Thanks for the links!

Same here. I prefer the Fiocchi slugs/00 buck. Have been using them in my Mav 88 for quite a while. Very pleasant to shoot.

A good recoil pad job and the slugs will feel like buckshot. Don't semi auto's like full power loads right?

If you are sighting in your slug gun get a "lead sled" shooting rest and a good recoil pad. You will be able to shoot all day long with no pain. As far as lightest recoiling slugs; besides the dedicated managed recoil slugs, generally the lighter the slug the less the recoil. I shoot the 3/4oz federal barnes tipped expanders and while not pleasurable by any stretch of the imagination, it certainly does have less recoil than a 1oz slug.

Just my two cents worth.

This right here....I use these in my M2 Benelli at 3 gun matches. Kicks less than the bird shot loads I shoot.

Having shot Remington Low-Recoil "Slugger" 12ga slugs from an SBS 870P, that was pretty pleasant.

I have no other experience to add.
