has anyone had problems with thermold mags? and how have you fixed it
So the local store had thermold 15rd mags on sale so I picked up 3 of them. Go to the range and not one would charge even the first round. Id go to charge it and the tips of the rounds would get stuck on the feed ramp and jam and not go in. Has anyone had this peoblem or have any ideas about how to fix it? The guy at the gun store told me to sand off a part on the mag but i think he was just trying to get me out of there cus they still had them on sale and were selling alot of them and didnt want me there saying they didnt work.
You might post this in the mag section.
But the best fix I've found is to replace with PMags.

I had one problem with one g3 tremmie mag. The strangest thing was that it would stop third from top. One of the guys knew at the shop told t
me to take it apart and stretch the spring out. After that it works without any problems. Btw, I also have AR tremmie mags that work flawless.

Are these some bastard child mags? 15 rounders..??? Never heard of them before, unles slaughtered for HI or something
I know that 20 rounds mags were built before the ban. It looks like a short 30.
Is this some New Jersey abortion type magazine?
Been using the Thermelts 30rounders for a few decades now!
Zero problems
Hell I like them better than USGI 30 or the curve 20rounder
Thermold loaders work better than the USGI spoon
Hell I even like there plastic stripper clips better also can be used to start fires
Its part of the reason the Canadians dumped them.

I had this problem with some 30 rounders. They would work somewhat with M4 cut feed ramps but not with early style ramps. The nose of the round will not rise far enough to hit feed ramp and round jams.
I've not had any issues with my 20rd or 30rd Thermold magazines. I did have a round hop out of a fully loaded 20rd mag once upon a time when dropped on to the bench, but other than that they feed just as well as the USGI mags I have.
I have to wonder sometimes if people drank too much [brand] kool-aid. Just saying.

They seem to make some decent stuff. The stripper clips are preferred in different parts of the world. The loader they make is awesome and is the only speedloader besides the striplula that takes ammo on stripper clips and loose. I like it better than the striplula but the striplula is smaller when collapsed.
The magazines though I have very little exposure to but they seemed good and functioned great. They are from North Carolina and as far as I know they have never even tried to push their product. So there are no major "FANS" because they don't even advertise as far as I know. I would call them and ask if you have a problem. I would bet they will help you out with a problem, do them and everyone here a favor and report back if you choose to contact them. Here is the information. I have an email but its the VP so if you need that send me a message.
