Looking for a correct A1 rear sight aperture

Hello all,

I have a home assembled AR upper with an A1 receiver. It is my understanding that the rear sight aperture holes are the same size and are supposed to be at different heights. The hole marked L is for longer range and thus should be lower. The sight aperture I have in fact has two identical sized holes and one is marked with an L. However, both shoot to the same point of impact. So I am looking to purchase a correct aperture.

I have checked the usual suspects (Midwayusa, Brownells, Gunparts Corp, Sarco) and some of the manufacturers (DPMS, Model1 Sales, Armalite etc.). DPMS offers one however, based on the review on Midwayusa, it seems that both holes are at the same height. I have emailed DPMS for confirmation but have not yet heard back. Can anyone tell me who might sell these?

TIA,

Ken

Thanks for the replies. This was my first post and it got sort of lost. I just found my way back to it although I have not found out where the "Optics..." forum fits in the hierarchy of things. I did want to correct this fubar
The hole marked L is for longer range and thus should be lower
The L aperture should of course be HIGHER.

Rob - MANY thanks. I will PM you once I figure out how to do that on this site.
