Suggestion on a spotting scope
Hello so .... Got my AR, got the EOtech after a little while but now I need to see where I'm hitting!! I guessed some binocular would be enough but I was wrong! I'm snooping around online but see too many options . Anyone can recommend a decent spotting scope that would help me up to 100 yds for less than $200??
Thnx!
I would try to locate a new/used Bushnell 15-45x60mm Excursion. This was a copy of the Leupold Gold Ring FLP. I had one, and by a quirk of fate I wound up with two. Sold each for $250 and made a down payment on a Leupy. But the Bushnell was pretty darn good for the money. Since they've been discontinued the price of new ones still available has gone up but you could keep checking fleabay, The Optics Talk forum, sample list from SWFA, and hunting forums classifieds.

If you find one, throw away the included tripod - it's junk but the spotter is really great for the money.
I was about to ask this as well, but found this thread by searching...
Anyone else out there have any suggestions on a good spotting scope? I need to be able to see where my 5.56 rounds are hitting out to 250 yds or so as soon as my PredatAR gets here...
ETA: What kind of magnification should I be looking for at those distances?
Gonna try bumpin this

If you do not want to spend huge money, but want a pretty darn nice spotting scope, you could look at the KONUS
Jim Owens "Jarhead Top" has them at his website, with a little blurb about them. I have used one for years, and I like it a lot. The price difference between it and Leupold or Kowa has bought a lot of primers and powder.

+1 get a Konus and spend the extra money on a good stand. Having a steady support for the scope is just as important as quality glass.

I raped a gymbal mount from a tripod and threaded it on a shaft that I welded to a large C-clamp. I clamp it to the bench and have full adjustability. I use a Leupold Windriver, but I am looking at the one at the link above.

Stands are important. I have a First Strike stand, and it is quite awesome, despite the fair price. It's good for me to spot standing, sitting, or prone. You can probably go a bit cheaper if it;s just for a bench or prone scope stand.
Will check those out! Thnx ppl!
