I just wanted to mention to you guys about a grip I found. I did a search to see if anyone had already mentioned it but I found nothing.

First, a little background on my anal-retentive trend on pistol grips. I always have a lot of trouble settling with grips. I've practically tried them all but could never nail it down to one. I tried the Magpul MIAD but I don't like a particularly wide grip. And though I do have rather large hands with long fingers, at the same time I don't like my fingers to completely wrap around a grip to the point that they overlap (I experienced this issue with the Magpul MOE-K). I also don't like grips that force my fingers into a particular position (such as with the Hogue Overmold or even the standard issue A2 grip that partitions your middle finger from your ring and pinky finger). I did, however, find myself repeatedly returning to the standard A2 type grip like the one issued on my A2 in the Corps. Perhaps it felt like 'home'.

Well, I finally found the grip to end my search and I bought a few for future builds since I like it so much. The Patriot Series grips from Strike Industries seem, for all intents and purposes, to fill the very criteria for which I based my needs. It's nice and wide with a contour, but it isn't blocky or bulky feeling. It's extremely lightweight and the Pro series Patriot grip has a nice storage compartment with a secure catch. There are 2 profiles, one with the flat backstrap (CQB) and one with a palm contoured backstrap (Pro). I bought both because they were running a sale and I basically got 2 for 1. Both are very nice but the CQB variant doesn't have the storage compartment.

The kicker though, that caught my eye in the first place, is the ingenious Old Glory texture. I really like form and function in perfect harmony and that is exactly what the texture on the Patriot series grips is. They're very reasonably priced also.

And here installed on my rifle:
