I guess SF is working on an adapter for the PEQ-16 can accept Scout heads. Pretty slick.

I don't know why I find this hilarious, but I do...

It just looks like a bastard love-child or something.

The alternate adapter with its own plug sounds interesting.

because the peq-16's illuminator is a piece of crap and the bulbs always bust. They also have a tendency to burn out in around an hour of run time.

Haven't gotten to play with the new civilian DBAL-D2, but it would be cool if they made a similar adapter for that model so you can have Vis/IR illumination. I would buy that in a heartbeat.

Sorry Vic but I'm not a fan of the 16 at all and wish that the .mil would have stuck with the 15. The 15 was perfect with the exception of it didn't have the light, but that's what a SF/ Insight is for. The 16 drains batts way too fast, the bulbs always break on the illuminator, and you can't get a lbs bzo using the RCO like you could on the 15. It's got a greater margin of error when shooting at further distance with the way they need to be mounted. I saw more problems with them in the 1st year that they were out than any other optic I've used, and I've been fortunate to use practically them all with the exception of the aviation stuff.

Rant over.

No issue Brother, you preached it well though and cannot argue much with this...
