Question about the SureFire M951 with M49 Mount

It seems that The thumb screws faces up, which doesn't allow me to mount anything above (which I do). Is there something I can do about this mount so that the thumb screws faces the bottom? Apparently, there's only 1 way to mount this thing... Or I can mount on the left side, which my side sling mount gets in the way..

any help appreciated! Thanks! (P.S. I'm new here!)

There isn't a way to switch it with the stock mount that comes on the 951. You will have to get an aftermarket mount for it

what's a good aftermarket mount?

larue LT-270, it's not offset but the gg&g offset or yhm or millett 45 offsets have enough slots for the M951 or similar. I may pick up the 270 because I want to go right side mount but the factory thumbscrews go full retard and block my sights. yes there is newer shit out there but I heart my 951.

gear sector needs to pump that mount out, someone send them some motivational strippers.

amen... I'm partial to the M951 :)

just don't like how I have to give up a laser mount on top with the stupid thumb screws

P.S. where can you get the LT270 decently priced? (looking for new or used, which ever is cheaper)

That's weird, both my 951, and 961 has the thumb screws to the bottom when mounted on the right.
