How many lumes would you recommend?
I am going to put a light on my AR15. This rifle will be used for home defense / Riot Control / Zombies. What size lume light do you guys run? I am not wanting to spend a fortune on it. Maybe around $100? Sorry I am new to lights and ar's.

I would first recommend a Streamlight TLR-1 for a $100 very good light. It's very bright, light weight, decent enough battery life, compact, universal, and overall just a very good weapon light.
Next up would be the various two 123 battery powered lights in a basic flashlight rail mount. This would include Surefires, Streamlights, and all the other various imported lights.
After searching for a good light, I wound up getting the Klarus XT2C ($60) and mounted it in an Elzetta 1500 mount. At 470 lumens it is pretty dang bright and with dual buttons in the tail, I can access the strobe immediately. It works for me
Lights I like in that price range (no particular order):
Streamlight TLR-1, Surefire GX2 Tactical or (if you don't mind Chinese) Olight M20 Warrior
Being able to select from several brightness levels is a VERY useful feature in a rifle light.
Indoors, in tight quarters, you don't want a whole lot of light.
Outdoors, trying to see a target several hundred yards out, you definitely want a lot of light.
The ideal rifle light fills both needs, and allows you to pre-select your brightness level BEFORE you turn on the light - Having to toggle through several brightness levels to get the one you want is NOT a good approach.

I just ordered this setup with a pressure switch. Thanks
What you need is the Powertac E-5. It's what I have. 5.5" long and 7/8 in diameter. As multi settings..
High is 700 lumens medium is 400 lumens, low is 100, and moonlight which is 10 lumens. Also has a strobe setting, made of excellent quality and has a life time warranty.. All for 80$ Powertacusa.com I think the site.
About 100 lumens indoor, and 200 lumens outdoor. Check out the Streamlight TLR-1 and Surefire G2 (with Malkoff or TNVC drop in).
Malkoff MD2 (Turn-key) Flashlight with M61 (260 lumens) Drop-In $99 + $8 shipping
Made in USA
I would recommend the Fenix TK15.

Can you recommend a switch setup like this for a Surefire 6P?
Check out the company Phoebus Tactical. I got a new 5 mode flashlight (high, medium, low, strobe, S.O.S), mount, pressure switch, and a foregrip for $150. The light is AMAZING. 225 lumens on high, strobe, and S.O.S, around 100 on medium, and 25 on low. The set up allows a lot of functionability for the user and its a rugged set-up. Not many people have heard of this company, mainly because they specialized in other lighting systems before they went to weapon lighting systems. A lot of great features that you would probably like, for around $150.
