I have an 18" middy I was looking at swapping the a2 FSB for a low profile to accommodate a FF 12" handguard/rail. The main thing holding me back is the scaring left after it is gone, how do you guys hide/deal with this on your barrels?
What's it scared of?
I just use a black sharpie, but I'm nowhere near as anal about some guys on here.
Case in point: I recently sold a 1911 to a buddy of mine that I met through the site. He took it out that evening after work and ran a couple hundred rounds through it. When I woke up that evening, he had texted me. "Next time I see you, remind me to kick your ass. I'm going to have to clean that fucking Kimber before I can clean it."

buy a 2" low profile gas block troy makes one covers it right up like thats what it was made for. depends on your barrels finish if you don't want that just have to match as best you can.

This.
There are several low pro gas blocks that are designed long to hide those pin holes.
